Service Role Definitions
This guide clarifies the four distinct service modes offered by Beyond the Destination Tours. These definitions help operators issue accurate technicals and ensure proper staffing, pricing, and expectations.
1. Step‑On Guide (Spanish‑French‑English speaking)
Scope: On‑board commentary only. Not included: time management, pacing, safety briefings, guest movement, or any operational duties.
2. Tour Director for the Day
Scope: Commentary plus full guest‑facing management: schedule execution, pacing, safety briefings, coordination with the driver, and group movement. Not included: staggered arrivals, multi‑vehicle coordination, airport meet & greet, vendor liaison, or pre‑tour planning.
3. Operations / Coordination Support
Scope: Responsibilities beyond guiding or Tour Directing, such as staggered arrivals, airport meet & greet, multi‑vehicle coordination, check‑ins, manifests, liaison with your Denver team, or on‑site problem solving. Occurs: before or during the program.
4. Tour Consulting (Pre‑Tour Planning)
Scope: Assistance with itinerary design, timing, routing, feasibility, vendor recommendations, and planning support prior to the tour. Purpose: Ensures the operator’s technical is accurate and workable for the Tour Director who will execute it.
For contracting accuracy, operators should specify which service mode(s) they require when issuing a technical.
